Now you no longer need to worry about running out of value on your Octopus, because you can sign up for the Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS).
With AAVS, HK$250 or HK$500 (to be decided by customers
upon application) will be automatically added to your
Octopus when the remaining value reaches a zero or
negative balance, or when its remaining value plus
the maximum negative value is insufficient to settle
the full cost of the transaction. Each Octopus can
be automatically reloaded once a day. The reloaded
amount will be deducted from your designated credit
card account, with every AAVS transaction shown clearly
in your statement.
There are 21
financial institutions in Hong Kong offering AAVS,
and you simply need to sign up with them to
take advantage of this service.
You can apply for our Automatic Add Value Service
(AAVS) if you have a credit card account at any of
the
participating financial institutions
in Hong Kong. AAVS saves you from running out of
value on your Octopus so you can avoid the hassle
of manual
reloading. What's more, many participating credit
card issuing banks or companies also give bonus
points
or cash rebates for AAVS transactions allowing you
to earn points or cash bonuses even faster than
before.

Convenience - With AAVS, you don't have to worry about running out of money on your Octopus. You can carry on shopping and parking - worry free!
Interest-free repayment period and credit card reward points or cash rebates* - You can enjoy an interest-free repayment period of the reloaded amount offered
by participating financial
institutions. All AAVS
deductions, when linked
to a credit card account, will be settled in the same
way as other credit card
spending items. What's
more, credit card reward
points or cash rebates are offered on your reloaded amount
by most of the financial
institutions providing
AAVS.
Available for up to three of your Octopus -
You can apply for AAVS for up to three Octopus
through three different banks
or credit card issuing companies.
In addition, you can also
apply for AAVS for up to three family members, friends or relatives
aged 12 or above, up to a
maximum of three Octopus
in total.
Available for all Octopus products -
Customers can conveniently register for AAVS with any type of
Octopus product, including Sold Octopus, Octopus watches, pocket
watches and mobile phone straps etc.
Lost card reporting service - In the case
of loss or theft of your Octopus, you can quickly
report it to us by calling the 24-hour Octopus Lost
Card Hotline on 2266 2266. AAVS users are only required
to bear the loss arising from unauthorised use of
the Octopus for six hours after filing the loss report
(including any value auto-reloaded to the Octopus
during the liability period).
The 24-hour Octopus Lost Card Hotline is an interactive
voice response system which automatically captures
and dispatches the lost card information provided
by the customers to block unauthorised use of the
card.
