What is an Octopus watch?

The Octopus watch contains a mini silicon chip which makes the watch both a fully functioning Anonymous Octopus and a timepiece. The Octopus watch does not carry any deposit, but contains a stored value and can be reloaded at any time. Similar to a normal Octopus, the watch can have a maximum stored value of HK$1,000.

How do I add value to the Octopus watch?

As with ordinary Octopus, customers can add value to the Octopus watch at any ticket office and customer service provider and all manned retail outlets. Watches cannot be reloaded at Electronic Add Value Machines due to their shape.

How do I change the battery?

Customers can lift the cover of the battery compartment at the back of the watch to replace the battery.

When the warranty period has expired, can customers still return the watch for repairs?

After the warranty period, damaged watches will not be repaired or replaced. However, the positive remaining value of a damaged watch may be refunded with the damaged watch returned to the customer.

Is there any replacement or maintenance service for damaged Octopus watches by Octopus Cards Limited?

After a warranty period, customers can still apply for a refund through a designated maintenance service centre. However, the sales agent cannot offer a maintenance service after the warranty period.

Are the Octopus watches refundable?

No, the Octopus watches are non-refundable. However, the sales agent can offer exchange of inoperative watches during the warranty period.

Where can I add value to the Nokia Octopus cover?

As with the normal Octopus, you can add value to the Nokia Octopus cover at any sales outlet, including those at the MTR, KCR, New World First Ferry piers, 7-Eleven stores, Circle-K, etc.

Can AAVS be installed on other Octopus products?

Yes, it can.
